PHP Deprecated PacificHost cPanel Servers.
Posted by Sarwan Jassi on 11 June 2019 11:42 PM

Dear Customer,

Please read this email in its entirety as it pertains specifically to your account.

PHP 5.6 became the end of life on December 31, 2018. As of this month, security patches and updates are no longer available for PHP 5.6.

PHP 7 is faster, more secure, and uses fewer server resources than previous versions. There are also new features. More information describing the features can be found at There will be features that are deprecated from PHP 5.6 to PHP 7.2. We suggest that you update the PHP code used on your account immediately. There is a chance that you will find that changes are required for your code. Customers that use a CMS (such as WordPress or Drupal) will need to check that their existing plugins are compatible with PHP 7.

Switching the PHP version your applications are running from can be done through your control panel. Within cPanel, choose MultiPHP Manager from the Software section. Next, check the box of the site you wish to update, then to the right (above the list of sites), select PHP 7.2 from the dropdown menu and click the blue Apply button.

As this has been a planned updated, we are now beginning the process of removing PHP 5.6 from our servers. The default version of PHP will be 7.2. Due to the security risks involved, we will not have any servers offering PHP 5.6 after July 2019, nor will we be able to grant any extensions.

Thank you for your understanding,
PacificHost System Administration Team
